Long Man of Wilmington, East Sussex.
The Long Man of Wilmington is a 235ft tall chalk cutting on the South Downs between Lewes and Eastbourne. Thought to originally be Iron Age a 2003 archaeological investigation concluded that it may have actually been cut in the 16th or 17th century.
This was a quick flight before work one morning. There is a free car park nearby and it is a short walk along the road to the public footpath that takes you across the field. I took off from the road by the gate. There is another car park at the top of the hill which would allow for a higher flight.
